Domestic Workers Visa

This Visa allows you to safely and formally hire foreign domestic workers who meet the specific needs of your home, for the period you require.

Validity of 1 year, extendable up to four times,
You must include your employee in Social Security.
This visa must be managed by the Employer
The employer must be a natural person, either a Panamanian or a resident foreigner.
The minimum wage for this employee is $340 per month.
This visa does not allow dependents.
This visa does not grant a Work Permit.

Who can apply for this Visa?

National or foreign employers, whether temporary/permanent residents, who wish to hire a foreigner to work as a domestic worker in their home.

Both the domestic worker and the employer must comply with the immigration requirements and responsibilities established for this type of visa. Registration and monthly contributions to the Social Security Fund are mandatory.

1. Power of Attorney (notarized) and Application. The power of attorney must contain the name and nationality of the applicant's parents.

2. Three (3) photographs.

3. Duly certified copy of the passport (Notarized or corresponding Authenticated).

4. Criminal Record Certificate.

5. Health Certificate.

6. Affidavit of Personal Background Form.

7. Copy (notarized or authenticated) of the Identity Document from the country of origin or residence permit of the domestic worker.

8. Security Deposit, on behalf of the employer, in favor of the National Migration Service, for the amount of five hundred balboas (B/.500.00) per foreigner.

9. Payment for immigration service in the amount of one hundred balboas (B/. 100.00) in favor of the National Migration Service.

10. Receipt of public services, indicating the location of the address where domestic service will be provided.

11. Proof of affiliation to the Social Security Fund from abroad and a copy of your card (in the case of the last extension form).

12. Employer's liability letter.

13. Employment contract.

14. Copy of the ID of the responsible party or the resident card (duly authenticated by the corresponding authority).

15. Economic solvency of the responsible party, which may be demonstrated with one of the following documents:

a - Work letter with your slip or payment receipt.

b - Income tax return with its respective clearance certificate.

c - Bank letter from a local bank (stamped by the bank).

d - Domestic Worker Form.

No, esta visa es intransferible. Al terminar la relación laboral se debe cancelar la visa cerrando el trámite. El extranjero queda nuevamente en el estatus de turista.

¿Qué documentos debo presentar para las renovaciones anuales?

Debes actualizar la carta de responsabilidad como empleador, la ficha de cotizaciones de la Caja del Seguro Social del trabajador, su carné del Seguro y el comprobante de tu domicilio.
