This permit is designed for international students at all educational levels: basic, higher, and specialized. Panama becomes the ideal setting for academic training.

• Current admission or enrollment letter from a university, institute, or educational center recognized by the Ministry of Education of Panama (MEDUCA) or the competent authority.

• Sufficient financial solvency to cover your study and living expenses during your stay.

• Clean criminal record certificate from your country of origin or the last country where you resided.

• The passport must be valid for a minimum of six (6) months at the time of application.

Residencia temporal renovable 

The student visa in Panama grants you temporary residency that is renewed annually as long as you maintain your active enrollment. After completing 6 years of studies, you can apply for the Residencia Permanente para Estud​iantes, ensuring your stay in the country.

Work Permit Option

Proof of residence of the foreign applicant. Note: If the applicant is a minor, the application must be submitted by the parents or the person who has custody and guardianship. In addition to the requirements established in this article, they must provide the birth certificate of the minor and a copy of the personal identity card duly authenticated by the National Directorate of Identification of the Electoral Tribunal or a notarized copy of the current migration card of the responsible person in the Republic of Panama.
